A Calming Ritual: Essential Oils, Breathwork & Meditation for Nervous System Support

Before you close out your week…
Pause.
Inhale slowly.
Exhale a little longer.
During the monks’ recent peace walk and meditation, we were given a simple and powerful blessing:
May all beings be free from resentment & conflict.
May all beings be free from physical suffering.
May all beings be free from mental suffering.
May all minds and bodies be at peace.
Peace isn’t something we attend once.
It’s something we practice.
One gentle way to continue that practice at home is through intentional aromatherapy.
A thoughtfully combined essential oil blend for nervous system support can offer grounding and gentle uplift at the same time.
One of my favorite combinations:
Softens the edges and supports relaxation. Lavender signals safety to the nervous system and encourages the body to exhale.
Centers the breath and steadies the mind. It creates a grounded, anchored feeling that pairs beautifully with meditation.
Adds brightness and emotional lightness. Citrus oils gently uplift mood without overstimulation.
Together, these oils create a calming and uplifting blend that supports nervous system regulation while maintaining clarity and vitality.
Try this:
Diffuse your favorite combination of lavender, frankincense, citrus, or any blend that creates a calm space for you.
Then:
Inhale slowly.
Exhale a little longer.
As you breathe, mentally repeat:
May all beings be free from resentment & conflict.
May all beings be free from physical suffering.
May all beings be free from mental suffering.
May all minds and bodies be at peace.
Continue the slow inhale and extended exhale as you cycle through the blessing.
This pairing of breath, mantra, and aroma becomes a sensory anchor — a way to embody peace rather than simply think about it.
It allows you to soften without collapsing.
To uplift without becoming agitated.
